The Rotary Club of Shillong has made sustained efforts to identify itself with the needs and expectations of the people of Meghalaya and has been initiating many projects which have gone to meet some of the felt needs of the society.

It is not easy to pen on the myriad projects the club has undertaken over the years. However, some of the notable contributions of the club are as follows:

  • Its first project was of providing a water pump to Pomlum, a forlorn village in Upper Shillong way back in 1957. The Club renewed its contact with Pomlum in 1993 by donating some desks, benches, water filters and black boards for the Pomlum High School.
